Liverpool v Real Madrid | Champions League QF (Agg 1-3) | Live fans match thread!

After establishing nearly 60% of Liverpool fans agree with me that we need a goal scoring midfielder to win the league next season, we now turn our attention to other matters requiring goals. Two of them and a clean sheet would see us advance to the Champions League semi final.

Annoyingly Real Madrid will more than likely turn up on Wednesday demanding to take part and so it's not going to be easy. In fact the opposite of easy is the more likely scenario.

Zinedine Zidane does have a worsening injury list. Sergio Ramos Scumbag Supreme and Eden Hazard were already unavailable for the first leg and now Lucas Vazquez is out, with Fede Valverde doubtful.

Toni Kroos was subbed off in Real's last game for reasons unknown but I doubt he's injured. More likely Zizou is resting him or even trying to keep Klopp guessing as to the line-up he'll face.

For us, we learned recently that Origi who's been missing for reasons unknown has some kind of muscle issue, so they'll be no European heroics from him. Nor will hero Henderson be taking part which in my view is a major blow. Not to mention out for the season Van Dijk, Gomez and Matip.

Our line-up is an interesting prospect. Can we assume an Alexander-Arnold, Phillips, Kabak, Robertson defence? Or might Klopp decide to switch Fabinho into our back line.

Consecutive clean sheets versus RB Leipzig, Wolves and Arsenal gave us optimism regards the Phillips, Kabak pairing but were swiftly followed by goals conceded against Real Madrid and Villa. On balance I'd drop Phillips and pair Fabinho with Kabak.

Moving to midfield I hear the cries that the suggested switch would weaken this area but we have Keita, Milner, Gini, Thiago and Jones to choose from and I'd go with the last three.

Up front I'd like to see Jota back in the middle where he's been best. A hopefully well rested and rejuvenated Mane on the left and Salah on the right. Alisson in goal.

That's my eleven then and please post your own suggestions. What line-up Klopp will choose is anyone's guess but I back him to get it right and although it will be a tough, nervy affair, I think we'll finish with a ticket to the semis.

How confident are you Nesters? Remember anything is possible - we wrote the book on it and we owe it to our injured players as well as all the Reds we miss to give it a damn good go. So let's do that and see where it takes us.

Liver Bird's Scorecast: 4-4, a hide behind the sofa goalless extra time and we win on penalties.
