Liverpool 0-1 Fulham | Take it away Frank.....

Oh dear, that didn't go well. BUT, damned if it's dragging us down. There are things in life that rightly sadden people to extremes but football ain't one of them, not in terms of results anyway. So, we'll be starting today's article and week off with the following as a backdrop.

We'll also be adopting a bloody-minded 'we are Liverpool' spirit - one that's thankful to be here watching our Reds come wind, rain or shine. We might have a bit of a moan along the way but will mostly be looking for the positives....

Bit of a moan

What was Jurgen thinking making so many changes. I just don't understand it. Seven of them was two too many for me. Trent and Mane should have started.

We clearly see now we don't have sufficient cover in a number of places. Right back and Centre Back being the main ones. Neco and Rhys are not yet at the level to cover in the senior squad.

Others are simply not cutting the mustard. Shaqiri showed early LFC promise but the more I see of him the more I think he isn't good enough.

The jury is still out on Keita and our entire attack have been struggling for a long enough period it raises questions on if they're good enough for next season's hopeful return to the top.

Looking for the positives

Just kidding. Positives are as follows.

Keita is just back from a lengthy spell out but is already showing glimpses of the quality he obviously has. In yesterday's game it wasn't enough to help us win but hopefully over coming games will be.

Jota is just back from a lengthy spell out but is already showing glimpses of the quality he obviously has. In yesterday's game it wasn't enough to help us win but hopefully over coming games will be.

Fabinho is back and will hopefully soon be restored to midfield which could massively improve things.

Jurgen has temporarily lost the plot but we know it is only temporary. A minor blip which is totally understandable.

Klopp's a dream weaver extraordinaire but he's also human and not long since suffering the loss of his mother, trying to cope with a frankly ridiculous amount of injuries, Covid, personal tragedy befalling Alisson and the rest of the squad hitting the skids.

However, low as these lows are, they simply make the future highs all the more enjoyable and we back Jurgen 100% to bring those future highs - no better manager to celebrate them with too.

We're still in the Champions League. The last sixteen no less and we didn't get there by accident.

Undeniably our squad's become a little rough around the edges but we'll address that in the summer and enjoy each match with renewed interest and excitement of a team climbing back upon it's perch.

In the meantime, we are Liverpool. We are Liverpool in first. We are Liverpool in sixth and we are still Liverpool in eighth. Conversely, even in victory and times of good form other teams can only dream of being one tenth the club we are. We should just enjoy it.

On Wednesday we go again against Leipzig and never write us off. Still 30 points up for grabs in the Premier League as well. The trickle of players returning could just be enough to get us back on track.

Hope everyone's week is starting well. Let's go Reds!
