Liverpool v Everton | Live fans match thread!

Ding ding, seconds out, round two!.... In all seriousness it would be wholly wrong to fan flames ahead of this Merseyside derby. We all know what accidentally happened in the first round and that it went totally unpunished was fairly dealt with by the officials. It's time to draw a line and move on.

Focusing purely on the playing side of things then, how do we rate our chances? Well firstly we need to know who's injured and who's not. Right off the bat: Virgil Van Dijk sadly won't be available.

Other absentees include Fabinho, who is not yet back in training and the same for Milner and Jota who Klopp has said are closer but not ready for this game. On the plus side Naby Keita has been back in training for a week or so now and subject to a late fitness test may be available.

Further good news comes in the form of a fit and firing Thiago, now thankfully recovered from a nasty knock he picked up earlier in the season.

Klopp also confirmed that Alisson is okay, allaying fears he may have missed training yesterday and for Everton, their manager Carlo Ancelotti has stated Calvert-Lewin and Allan will be back. Here are the rest of Klopp's pre-match thoughts.

We enter this fixture with good winning momentum gained from our midweek Champions League victory and must do our best to continue it into the domestic league.

Defence selection is bound to be a burning question and my vote goes toward keeping the same CB pairing of Henderson and Kabak. I'd also keep the rest of our line-up unchanged.

The difference between that game and this may be that Everton are more likely to bus park at Anfield versus the nice open style we encountered against Leipzig. Recent history shows we've struggled to break through buses and midfield could be key.

Perhaps there is a case then to try and get Henderson back in midfield? For me though Jones is improving every game and we might even see Keita get some minutes.

Finishing on a responsible note, Jurgen was sure to say we will not bring ill feeling into this match and he's of course right. We absolutely must put prior grudges behind us and focus on our performance.

Liver Bird's Scorecast: 16-0
