Brighton v Liverpool l Live fans match thread!

As we try to forget the horror show of midweek our lads next make the trip to Amex Stadium to face a team sitting only two places above relegation. In theory this is an 'easy' game but as we have come to find out the hard way, there are no easy games when you're in the hunt for the title.

Brighton have conceded 15 goals over their first 9 games, therefore the likes of Jota, Salah, Mane and Bobby should be licking their lips. However Brighton's attackers, who've collectively scored 13 in the same period, will be thinking similar as they consider the fact we've conceded a whopping 16 goals.

If you want to compare that to last season: it took over 28 EPL games for us to concede the same number of goals as we've let in after playing less than a third of that in this one.

In preparation Brighton have had a healthy seven days off since they last played whereas we've had a measly three day break. Klopp did however carry out due diligence, resting several key players, even if it was only for half of our previous game.

With our ever present injury issues, let's have a listen to the Gaffa to see who may be in contention.

Not much in the way of line-up clues there. Henderson just about back in training and subject to a late fitness test. No words spoken by Jurgen specifically addressing the question on Thiago who therefore seems unlikely to feature.

Some notable points in the press conference were talk once more of early kick off times on the back of midweek matches. Since Jurgen criticised this practice we've been given this one and looking at the December schedule we are the only team to get another Wednesday/12.30 Saturday combo.

Have we been punished for speaking out? Possibly, although we will grin and bear it.

On a cheerier theme, Lallana may play for Brighton and we of course wish him well, in defeat.

Before we consider our own line-up further, in respect of Brighton's team news: just as we're missing Alexander-Arnold, they will be without star right-back Tariq Lamptey but due to suspension not injury. This is a blessing for us as Lamptey has already amassed 1 goal and 3 assists.

So no Gomez, no Alexander Arnold, probably no Henderson. No Keita, no Van Dijk, no Shaqiri, likely no Oxlade-Chamberlain, and no Thiago. But apart from just those few we are looking peachy.

No, really, we are, because...

 ♪ Plus we added Diogo :-) ♫

Yes indeed, you can strike our players down but WE ARE LIVERPOOL and with the following line-up or variation thereof we're gonna play these modded rockers off the pitch.

No messing about with this one, we rested players for a reason. Straight back in for Robbo, no dice rolling at right-back either, get Milly in there. Same in central defence - Rhys can take a moment for some beehive maintenance while Fabino shores things up.

Jota on the right, not his preferred position but he'll do plenty of tracking back to help Milner while remaining a strong attacking outlet. Bobby pulling the strings, Salah centre, of attention - no pesky passing concerns just the goal to focus on. Mane stays left, time for him to ignite the afterburners and Gini and Jones can retain the ball in the middle. Job done and all home in time for tea and biscuits.

LiverBird's Scorecast, 0-4.
