Liverpool v West Ham | Live fans match thread!

Next up for our band of merry Red-men are West Ham, who have been on a roll of late. They trounced Leicester three nil, then went behind to Spurs by three goals but scored three back to earn a late draw and then held City to another draw.

Unfortunately for West 'Ammm their star striker Antonio was injured in the City match and won't be available to face us. If you saw his goal against The Citizens you'll agree that's a blessing.

If you didn't see Antonio's goal then it would be remiss of me not to post it here for your enjoyment.

(7 seconds in. No need to watch any further:-)

But dog damn it we don't support West Ham! Tell us about Liverpool!

Good news on that front - there's no bad news.

In fact, Virgil Van Dijk has had successful knee surgery, Thiago and Naby, may be back tomorrow and in his pre-match presser Jurgen was the most buoyant I've seen him in weeks.

Further good news: Billy 'the kid' Koumetio is back in training and another possible to feature against The Irons. Not discounting we have young Rhys Williams who played a blinder at centre-back when called upon during our last match.

Obviously Fabinho is out (hamstring) and looks like he will be until after the next international break. Oxlade is long term injured still (knee) as is Tsimikas (thigh) and Matip (muscle - not sure which one).

Further on Matip: he has played just one full match in the last twelve months. Not ideal and doesn't fill me with confidence as to how long his next spell back might last. Hope springs eternal though.

Jurgen confirmed there was and is no issue with Henderson. His early substitution against Midtjylland was purely down to squad pitch time management. Good idea during this super packed schedule.

So who might we field tomorrow? Considering injuries and likely availability I feel we'll see something along the following lines.

All sorts of possibilities. Maybe Robbo needs a little rest, he looked jaded at times in our last game but with our new left-back Kostas still unavailable it would mean using Milner(?). Similarly we may see Milner or even Henderson start in a centre-back position.

This game won't be easy. West Ham have taken points off three top teams on the bounce and Jurgen was quick to highlight how good a striker Haller is. So even without Antonio they'll be dangerous.

That's why I've gone for our more regular 4-3-3. I think Jurgen still sees it as our strongest formation and similarly I feel he likely still backs Mane, Mo and Bobby Firmino as our most potent attack.

Hopefully Thiago will be available. With Fabinho covering in defence, the central midfield's we've been fielding have lacked some cutting edged and he can help solve that.

What line-up would people like to see? Should we continue our 4-2-3-1 foray. Should Jota perhaps start ahead of Firmino and would you risk starting Rhys Williams in a game of this magnitude?

Many variations line-up wise and keen to hear everyone's views and also how confident you feel.

Personally I'm taking Jurgen's cheery demeanour as a good sign and for this one, LiverBird's Scorecast is, of course, 4-0!
