LFC vs Bournemouth - LBN live fans match thread!

***Recent news, although conflicting at first has now confirmed that a family member of Naby Keita has been injured in a vehicle accident where sadly others involved also lost their lives. Like everyone we wish to offer Keita and his family our best wishes and also extend our deepest condolences to those facing the sadness of having lost loved ones. YNWA never rings truer than when a fellow person is at their lowest.***

Next we face Bournemouth FC, who travel up from the south coast for the early kick off on Saturday. My memory isn’t what it used to be so if someone can confirm but I don’t believe we generally do too well in the early games? Hoping this one will be an exception.

LBN form and injury guide

The Cherries will be without one of their best players, on loan LFC dead ball specialist Harry Wilson, who's currently their second highest scorer netting seven goals in the league. Also ruled out are Groeneveld, Lloyd Kelly, Charlie Daniels, David Brooks and Chris Mepham but even with such a long list of absentees B'mouth still boast several threats.

Callum Wilson leads their attack alongside Joshua King and the pair could be a handful for our defenders especially if they don’t sharpen up from recent performances. Marshalling their back-line is former Chelsea player Ake who on his day can nullify the best of forwards and at the moment our forwards are far from at their best. Then there's Dominic Solanke who'll be out to prove it was a mistake for LFC to ship him out (if his manager lets him on the pitch that is).

We currently find ourselves in a bit of a crisis for the first time in over a year - losing three of our last four matches and if we're brutally honest with narrow wins against West Ham, Norwich and Shrewsbury it could easily have been six losses on the trot.

Having conceded only 20 goals in 28 games we still hold the best defensive record in the league however in our last two EPL games our keeper has had to pick the ball out of the back of his net five times (8 goals conceded in our last 4 games in all competitions). Injury list wise ours may not be as extensive as Bournemouth’s but it has no doubt had a huge impact on our current poor form.

Shaqiri's services sure would be handy right now but like the proverbial pot of gold at the end of a rainbow, any mention of a return to action for our Swiss play-maker remains elusive.

Oh Captain my Captain: Jordan Henderson is still suffering from the thigh injury he acquired during the Atletico match. However, reports are surfacing that he's upped his rehab at Melwood and is pushing to be fit for the return leg in midweek, no help though against the Cherries.

Alisson, our rock in goal, has just been reported to have injured his hip and will miss not only this game but also the Atletico and Everton fixtures. That leaves Naby Keita who was 50/50 to be available but due to his relative's involvement in the above mentioned accident is unlikely to feature.

Hopefully after the boys whimpered out of the FA Cup Klopp locked himself in a closet (cupboard, depending where you're from) with a mirror and took a good hard look at himself. The team have lost their way since the 'must have at all costs' winter break and Klopp alongside his back room staff, need to grab our players by the scruff of their necks and get them back on course toot sweet.

Team: Adrian, TAA, VVD, Gomez, Robbo, Fab, Gini, Milner, Salah, Firmino, Mane
Lonergan, Matip, Lallana (would rather Jones), Ox, Origi, Taki, Lovren (rather a training cone)

Liver Bird's scorecast: Back to winning ways with a Boom(x4) 4-0!
