Watford vs Liverpool - LBN's live match thread!

After scraping by relegation battlers West Ham six days ago our lads now make the journey south east to the outskirts of London where they'll face another team fighting to stay in the Premier League. Vicarage Road Stadium has been Watford's home since 1922 and the Hornet's (so called because they play in yellow and black) fans have lovingly named it "The Vic". Watford FC's biggest claim to fame is that their former owner was Sir Elton John - their two main stands are named after both Sir Elton and former manager Graham Taylor. Vicarage Road's current seating capacity is 21,000 (although they did sneak in an extra 590 people for the EPL attendance record against Sunderland in 1999).

Coming from an embarrassing 0-3 loss to Manchester United, Watford now have some players due back from injury who could be in contention to face us. Ismaila Sarr played the final 20 minutes in the loss to Utd to get some match time under his belt. The young forward, having made 17 appearances for the Hornets, netting 3 times with 2 assists, may feature more heavily this Saturday. While Spanish defender Kiko Femenia has returned to training and could also play. The dark horse though is Danny Welbeck: in Watford's last 3 matches he's managed 51 minutes of game time so he's fit enough to have been playing but hasn't been able to make it to the starting XI..... Yet!

Our own last game was an underwhelming and at times slightly scary showing against lowly West Ham but nevertheless it resulted in another W on the board. It will be interesting to see who Klopp chooses for this match as we face Chelsea three days later in the under 23's FA Cup.

Besides playing two games in quick succession Klopp has one or two injury concerns that we should have cover for but which will still give him some decisions to make. Shaq apparently remains nowhere near ready to start training. Is that down to his one of a kind never before seen in medical science muscle make up or because he didn't give Klopp a hug and wants out of the club to go and play football instead of just watching?

Henderson's still out and probably will be for several more games and I'm not finding any concrete news on Milner who was suffering from a "small muscle issue" but potentially may be available to face the Hornets. Taking the Chelsea game into consideration (will Klopp stick with any or all of our U/23's) our line-up against Watford FC will probably look something like the following:

Alisson, Robertson, Van Dijk, Gomez, Alexander-Arnold, Fabinho, Wijnaldum, Keita, Mane, Firmino, Salah.

Bench: Adrian, Matip, Lovren, Oxlade-Chambelain, Origi, Minamino.

The big question mark regards this weekend's line-up is whether the OX should get the nod ahead of Keita after the latter was pulled early and replaced by the former in our last match. Personally I'd like Naby to get more minutes under his belt in the EPL and then we can start Ox against Chelsea.

The Liver bird's score-cast for this one: 0-4
