Norwich City vs LFC - Live fans match thread!

Finally the 'winter break' is over and we return to the EPL where our fully rejuvenated squad make the long trek to the coast of Jamafrica to take on bottom dwelling Norwich at Gran Canaria Stadium (pictured below). Canaries once being used for safety down mines where they'd keel over if oxygen levels dropped too low in defence where they'd fall flat on their backsides whenever the threat of a Suarez was present.

Very much the definition of a yo-yo club Norwich are constantly going up and down through the divisions. Normally they're able to maintain first 'flight' football for a couple of seasons before the inevitable occurs but not this time, with only four wins from twenty-five matches they're sitting on just eighteen points, needing an eight point turn around to overtake Villa above them.

Despite their poor showing leaving them a staggering fifty-five points behind us Norwich are not a team to take lightly. Two of their four victories LFC fans will have found sweet being wins over Manchester City and Everton. They've also managed to take points off the Gunners, Foxes and Spurs by grinding out draws, so our lads better wake up from their holidays quickly and be ready for a hard fought game. Until we get two goals in the first fifteen minutes then it will be cruise control.

In all seriousness this game should be a foregone conclusion, as long as our lads don't think that because that's when banana skins appear but history shows us to be a bit of a voodoo team for Norwich. The two clubs have met sixty-one times with Norwich winning just eleven matches and conceding 129 goals along the way (Suarez scoring most of them).

So, where does our squad stand after the winter break, well Milner trained with the U/23's prior to the FA Cup match (this man is nothing short of pure class) but it's believed this weekend's game may be too soon for him. Mane is close to returning but there's no need to rush him and then we have one of the mysteries of the universe Xherdan Shaqiri whose muscle make up is apparently beyond understanding by LFC medical staff, and when and if he may take to the pitch for us is also not something modern science is able to fathom.

Although the squad have been on holiday some were seen doing extra fitness work: Alisson returned to Brazil and took part in a training session with his brother at Fluminense, there was a video of VVD and Ox completing passing drills and Klopp stated even though the lads are on 'holidays' they all have a training program to adhere to so hopefully they all return switched on and raring to go.

With almost a full squad to choose from and all players fully rested it will be interesting to see how Klopp sets the team up, here is a possible option:

Alisson, TAA, Gomez, VVD, Robbo, Fabs, Hendo, Gini, Ox, Bobby, Salah

Bench: Adrian, Taki, Origi, Matip, Naby, Lallana, Jones.

I personally wouldn't mind seeing Taki start as it appears a good game for him to get some pitch time in the EPL. Also Klopp may field Naby to get some minutes in to aid his recovery.

The Liver Bird scoreline prediction: this game will finish, 0-4.
