Liverpool vs West Ham - Live fans match thread!

Righty ‘O then let’s move back to the EPL and put that charity match against the drama/acting academy behind us. West Ham make the journey to Anfield after their replay against Manchester “it's not cheating because we don’t agree with the rule” City where they were given a jolly good tune up.

'The Irons' so called due to originally being founded by Thames Ironworks and Shipbuilding Company - playing as Thames Ironworks FC, first faced Liverpool in 1901 when they'd just been reformed as West Ham United FC due to the prior team being wound up. It was an FA Cup tie which LFC won 1-0 and we haven’t looked back since. Overall the two teams have come head-to-head 140 times with LFC taking the honours 75 times with 37 draws and only 28 losses. In the Premier League alone we've won 28 out of the 47 matches and scored 88 goals, conceding 41. Along the way there was a rather famous FA Cup final where somebody named Gerrard pulled a rabbit from a hat....

'The Hammers' - again so called due to their Ironworks roots are still without some of their strike force. Jack Wilshire and Andriy Yarmolenko both being injured and not due back for another week or two, then there’s Filipe Anderson who picked up a knock to his rib in January. Filipe may be ready for the trip to Anfield but will be far from match fit although still a player we should be wary of. The 'Ammmers currently sit 24th and are in a 5-way relegation battle with Watford, Villa, Bournemouth and Brighton so we should not come into this game thinking it’s a forgone conclusion.

Klopp and our lads have something to prove after their midweek exploits, with David Moyes no doubt picking up a few tips from Athletico’s dark arts book. Several players will be out to prove a point after some poor displays since their return from the winter break. The one goal deficit is not the best, but the worst thing to come from the mid-week game was the injury to Henderson. At this point a period of three weeks out has been suggested for our Skipper but muscle injury heal times are unpredictable and it could well take longer. As big of a loss as that is, we should have the quality to cover Hendo’s absence with the likes of Milner, Naby and Ox all available to come into the midfield.

So, will Mr Klopp bring in the chopping axe and swap things around after the performance in Spain or will he give the same players an opportunity to redeem themselves.....
