LFC transfer talk | who's in and who's out

As we approach the midway point in the January window, I thought we could take a look at some of the names being linked with joining us as well as the players who've gone in the opposite direction.

Nathaniel Clyne - According to reports, with their own full back Ryan Fredericks out injured West Ham are considering a bid for Clyne who hasn't played a game himself since suffering an ACL tear in pre-season. Clyne's contract runs out this summer so seems like good business if it happens.

Brewster - loan spell with Swansea.

Isaac Christie-Davies - loaned to Cercle Brugge.

Herbie Kane - another loan deal, this time with Hull.

Rhys Williams - has had his loan period with Kidderminster Harriers extended.

Nathaniel Phillips - was on loan to Stuttgart, nipped back to help us knock Everton out the FA Cup and has now returned to Stuttgart.

That covers the outs, although Roma were reportedly keen to take Shaqiri on loan for the rest of the season but Jurgen is said to have blocked it. I've also heard mention of us trying to offload Karius in a cash plus player deal for Ugurcan Cakir. It seems unlikely anyone would fall for that though.

Minamino - Signed, sealed, delivered and already playing for us. Expecting great things.

Joe Hardy - Done, dusted and already banging in goals for our U23's. Lots of potential.

Potential ins

Diego Carlos - 26 year old Brazilian CB who we're said to be considering a move for. Looks the bees knees and could possibly replace both Lovren and Matip.

Mbappe - This one keeps cropping up and yes he's a great player but I don't see it happening. He's already a mega-star and it would be a real break from tradition for us to sign someone of that stature. Admittedly in recent times we've shown we're not against pushing the boat out for players like VVD and Alisson but neither were close to Mbappe in terms of price or wages. I'd also place both Dembele and Sancho in this category, two players we're repeatedly linked with but likely too much money.

Jack Grealish - All hot air and bluster this one, no link just pundits talking it up. Very good tidy player who'd undoubtedly suit us but I can't see us prizing him away from Villa mid-season or us even wanting to, if anything we're already overstocked in midfield.

Ugurcan Cakir - According to an article here we've had a €15million bid rejected by Trabzonspor for the 23 year old Turkish goal keeper. As mentioned above it's also been reported we've tried to use Karius as a makeweight. Might happen I suppose; Adrian's been good but is getting on a bit.

Adama Traore - Another one which seems to be purely based on who pundits think we should sign.

Victor Osimhen - We're being listed along with Spurs and Chelsea as one of three clubs interested in signing him. The 21 year old Nigerian striker is in his debut season at Lille where he's already scored 14 goals. I'm not convinced he'd be an upgrade on Origi.

My pick of the bunch is Diego Carlos although it's debatable whether we need to sign a CB this month, especially with both Matip and Lovren on the cusp of returning from injury. If our club already know one of them is to be sold this summer however then Carlos could be a great signing.

What say you gents, yay or nay to any of the above players and what position if any do you feel we need to address during this window.
