The World Champs Vs Outstanding Leicester

First off I hope all have had a cracking Christmas day with loved ones and those poor souls that had to work (like me 😢) enjoy a belated Christmas on your days off.  Now if your not too full it's time to feast on some festive football.

So after returning from Qatar crowned as the world champions the Redmen kick off the busy festive season with a game at Anfield against Brendan Rogers and his skulk of Foxes.

What do we know about Leicester, well the spearhead of their team is a 32-year-old whippet who is currently sitting on 17 goals and 3 assists from 18 appearances. Vardy has now scored in 8 of his last 9 EPL matches and is sitting pretty on the Golden Goal perch with a 6 goal advantage.

Since Rodgers arrival Leicester’s players have certainly found a remarkable change in fortunes and form as the team is currently sitting 2nd in the league so by no means will this game be a walk in the park and the lads will have to shake of that tan from Qatar and be fully prepared for one of our toughest tests of the season which may have a huge bearing on who’s holding the EPL title at the end of the season.

So let’s look at where we are with our current injuries, Clyne (Knee) is still about 2 months away, Fabinho (ankle) is expected to return sometime in January (hopefully sooner rather than later) and Joel Matip (Knee) may be be available as soon as next week.  Oxlade-Chamberlain (Ankle) has damaged 1 of the 3 ankle ligaments on the outer side, he won’t be available for the rest of this year and will be reassessed in the first week or two of January. At present time I can’t find any information on Lovren’s and Gini’s injury and if/when they are due back.

Other than being slightly light in defensive cover all other areas seem to be well stocked at this point in time so it’s over to Klopp and what he thinks will be the best formation and formula to skin these Foxes.

Possible line up will be Alisson, T2A, Gomez, Van Duck, Robbo, Hendo, Gini, Naby, MainMan, Bobby, Salad….  There might be a change or 2 in the middle if Gini isn’t fit Milner might come in and you never know Lallana might get a start.
