Henderson and T2A, vs The Czech Republic

Yesterday was a bit of a mixed bag for our lads out on international duty. While Fabinho remained an unused sub for Brazil, Firmino and Mane both had good games in this match. Firmino scoring for Brazil and Mane winning a penalty for Senegal. That game finished 1-1 so clearly our two latterly mentioned players were key to the result. Elsewhere a struggling Scotland lost to Russia but as a number of our posters pointed out on the previous thread, Scotland are simply not playing well of late and so Robertson was faced with an uphill battle.

The Netherlands beat Northern Ireland 3-1, and up until N.I scored in the 75th minute, VVD and Gini had helped the Netherlands keep a clean sheet. After that all hell broke lose as the Dutch responded to conceding by promptly scoring three on the bounce to win the game with a scoreline which probably flattered them.

Lastly we have Lovren who helped Croatia keep a clean sheet as they beat Hungary 3-0 and Origi who despite his national side Belgium dishing out a 9-0 shellacking versus San Marino, failed to score a single one of those nine goals. Primarily I suspect because he was an unused substitute but that kind of excuse can only carry you so far. Thankfully checking the news today I see no mention at all of any new injuries and I think we'd all agree that's the absolute best result and one which we hope to see continuing on throughout this international break.

Today's players of interest are Jordan Henderson and Trent Alexander-Arnold. Although both The Ox and Joe Gomez are also in the England squad they're unlikely to feature tonight against the Czech Republic with Gareth Southgate bizarrely preferring players from other teams than Liverpool. From our point of view that can only be a good thing in lessening our risk of injury. This game kicks off at 7.45pm British Proper Time. England U21's are also playing a friendly this evening against Slovenia's U21's in which Rhian Brewster may feature and that match is due to commence at 5pm (BPT)

I'll try and find a viewing source for both the above matches and again we simply hope for no injuries, and for England to give Slovenia a damn good thrashing. Which they will do.

With the international games known to become a tad boring, DaBandit posted this great little video to help us through the ordeal which I thought I'd reproduce here in case some haven't seen it.
