Welcome to Liverpool - Adrián

Always first with the inside scoop The Liver Bird Nest are pleased to announce that Liverpool have signed their third new player of the 2019 summer transfer window and we're equally pleased to welcome Adrián San Miguel del Castillo to the fold.

Much as we'll never forget Steven Migolee, I think this is a very astute signing: outgoing keeper nets us £6.4m and Adrián comes in gratis having left West Ham as a free agent this summer. From what I've previously seen of him he's a pretty handy keeper too and should provide perfect back up to Alisson.

Our new Spanish keeper's full name is as above but he's known simply as Adrián. He's 32 and has spent most of his career playing for Real Bettis before then joining The Hammers in 2013. Something which may be of interest to us is that as a youngster Adrián played as both a striker and a winger.

Quoted here by the BBC, Adrián had the following to say about joining Liverpool:

"I'm very ambitious, I come here to try to win everything, to try to push Ali from the first minute and to make us better," said Adrian.

"Obviously I want to win titles. I come here to fight for all the competitions.

"We have many competitions ahead - we're going to fight for it and try to get them."

Fair play and best of luck to him. I have a feeling he will do exactly as he says. We also have 23 year old Caoimhin Kelleher and 18 year old Vitezslav Jaros waiting in the wings. Although sadly both keepers are currently out injured, it does appear for the first time in a while we look to be adequately stocked in this position. Not only that but we have good history with Spanish goal keepers.

I am looking forward to seeing Adrián in action for us, probably with a cup run and alongside the likes of Brewster and maybe Wilson, hopefully they'll go all the way to a final.

What say you then all, Migs out, Adrián in, are you happy, sad or indifferent about that? To help you decide here is a clip of Adrián in action.
