Bradford City vs Liverpool

Bradford-City-mascot
Whenever I hear the name of Bradford City it always takes me back to the fire of 1985 (an amazing 34 years ago now). I particularly remember this because a video of the fire was shown on a fire awareness course at my place of work (yes I started work at a very early age). I remember especially seeing the hair of a fan, who had made his way to the centre circle, catch fire purely from the heat generated in the stand. Truly horrific events in which 56 people died and hundreds were injured.  Again there was no justice for the dead and injured but then can there ever really be justice for the death of a loved one?

One of the club's nicknames is "The Bantams" and they have a cock (no jay) on the top of their crest.  As a result for many years their mascot was, of course ……..a circumferentially challenged, football kit wearing, city gent with a bowler hat, umbrella (ella ella) and briefcase.

That's what I love about Britain. why go for the obvious choice, call in a high powered corporate design team, hire in a team of marketing experts and apply for KFC sponsorship when you can just ask a four year old child to come up with a mascot? More recently though they have succumbed to creeping homogeneity (haven't we all from time to time Jay?)  and now do indeed have a, bright and breezy but banal and boring, Billy bloody bantam as their mascot. (I am beginning to sound like a Poundland (budget) JK)

I assume the Liverpool team(s) will be the same as the Tranmere match and am hoping to see a similar performance. In particular looking forward to seeing again Origi, Brewster, Larouci, Jones, Kent and East Sussex (just to check you are all still paying attention),

The final result of the "just for fun" Tranmere match predictions, drumroll please, is ….. everyone loses...…. Ah well that's life....
Let us try again (one point for each)
