Liverpool v Utd in race for attacker

With the recent revelation that Adam Lallana is set to stay another season, shudder, do we need yet another attacking midfielder and if so, should it be Bruno Fernandes? Well according to reports, Jurgen Klopp must think so, as we're supposedly leading the race for his signature. Utd as well as Spurs are also said to be keen on signing the Portuguese attacker. With his agent Miguel Pinho set to visit London next week for talks with a number of clubs.

Currently, Fernandes, 24, plays for Sporting CP in Portugal's Primeira Liga (Lge NOS) and has had a rather good season; scoring 32 goals and creating 18 assists in all competitions. Those are the kind of stats Lallana dreams about.

Those just listed stats are also something which would boost our team/squad very nicely indeed. Especially so when you consider that Fernandes can play not only attacking midfield but also second striker and central midfield. Perhaps this is just the type of player we've been calling for to bring us a boost in creativity?

Let's take a look at Bruno in action to find out:

Sorry wrong Bruno. Easy to mix them up.

Whoah! Stop press. This lad looks to be the business and as long as he doesn't suffer back complaints, could be a perfect Coutinho replacement. Doesn't seem to be a facet of the midfield attacking game Bruno doesn't excel at. Very impressive. Also unusual for a 6 footer (he's 1.83m tall) to have those kinds of dribbling skills. At home on either foot too.

Is Fernandes the real deal then or is the level he's been playing at flattering him? We may get to find out on Sunday as he's part of Portugal's Nation's League final squad. It's a yes from me though and if he is a player we've decided to go for then the only sticking point may be his price... The above linked article suggests he has an £86m release clause.

Yay or nay peoples?
