Liverpool vs Wolves

Wow, what a journey we have had this season in the Premier League and now, all too soon, we come to the final match and welcome Wolves into the lions den.

Yes the end is very near and so we face the final curtain. Great highs with a few regrets but then again too few to mention. We've had doubts but spat them out. We've loved, laughed and cried and had our share of losing (and drawing) but if City trip up against Brighton and against all odds we win the League you can bet your fishing life, we'll find it all so amusing......

I don't know about my way but we will certainly have done it the Liverpool way with a smile on our faces and with passion, commitment, belief, bravery, team spirit and no little skill. In fact, I don't think the team could have done it without us :-) But seriously, the team has come a really long way this season and win or draw (we never lose in my eyes) it has been a success. Yes City are favourites in a two horse race but then so were Barcelona on Tuesday......

You can see how the team (or even the squad) has really grown in stature, confidence and team spirit throughout the season. They dominate possession and are really difficult to beat. They come back when they concede and don't just rescue matches but, when hope and time is running out, go on to win them with late and sometimes unexpected goals, from unlikely sources. They have been totally relentless and have just never, ever given up. I have so enjoyed this season and whatever the outcome, at the end I will still be singing YNWA along with the Kop at the top of my voice, with a tear or two in my eyes.

I think I can safely say, without fear of contraception, that the trial run of "Case's law" concerning the use of swear words was an outstanding success and once again serves to confirm our position as world leaders in the field of site management. The success of the trial was helped in no small part by Case's own rigorous and tireless testing of the system. Ok we might have picked "the wrong week to give up swearing" but rest assured, after examining the lessons learnt and listening to all the feedback we will return with a fully developed policy at some point in the future, although a date for this has yet to be decided. In the meantime, you can all fish on...... or even off.

With Firmino a confirmed absence, my team would be: Alisson, TAA, Matip, VVD, Robbo, Gini, Hendo, Fab, Mane, Origi and Salah. Hopefully at some stage  we will also be able to bring on Milner, the Ox and yes, even Moreno (who celebrated as enthusiastically as anyone on Tuesday night)
