Liverpool news: Champions League, last 16 draw results

How did LFC fare in the draw for the last sixteen of the Champions League?

Not too bad I think is the answer. All the teams left at this stage are fairly handy and so it's never going to be a cake walk in the last sixteen but we've managed to avoid arguably the two biggest threats in Barcelona and Real Madrid. Bayern though are of course no slouches and there were easier teams we could have drawn. Still, if you're going to win the Champions League you are going to have had to beat some very good teams along the way.

Bayern and Jurgen Klopp are no strangers as they were big rivals during his time managing Dortmund and his side lost to Bayern in the 2013 Champions League final. Even without that fact though this is a massive fixture between two of Europe's elite and one to really look forward to.

We will face Bayern at Anfield for the first leg, which will hopefully prove to be an advantage in seeing us head to their gaff with a decent lead. The match will be held on Tuesday the 19th of February at 8pm (GMT) Before that though, as Earnst has alluded to on the previous thread we can all enjoy a jolly good laugh watching United get soundly thrashed by PSG :-)

Just a small off-topic footnote to finish on: I would like to apologise to all for my prickliness of late and particularly the few who have been directly on the receiving end. No excuses, I've been a moody so and so, taking things out of context, other than how they were meant and then throwing hissy fits in response - not right and I am sorry.
