Match thread: Roma vs Liverpool

Roma-vs-Liverpool-Club-Crests

After an agonising wait and that horrible game against Stoke in the middle, the return leg of our Champions League semi-final is here at last and I for one, am riding the emotional rollercoaster. I’m excited and bricking it at the same time.

It’s been a turbulent week at LFC with the untimely departure of Buvac. Hopefully this isn’t a negative influence on he team, however if you can’t be fully focused and motivated in a Champions league semi final then you shouldn’t be playing the game.

Teams yet to be confirmed but let’s face it, injury dictates who will play so short of any surprises the lineup will be
                                Karius

TAA            Lovren               Van Dijk          Robbo

                                Hendo

                 Gini                           Milner

Salah                                                            Mane

                              Firmino

Like in the second leg against Man City, we just need to play our regular game tonight. We’re good at attacking and scoring goals, not seeing out leads so we need to box clever and keep it tight for the first 20 minutes and then start imposing ourselves on the game. Roma need to throw the kitchen sink at us tonight and that, in theory, should play right into our hands and I fancy us to catch them on the counter at least once tonight and one goal should finish the tie.

So here we go troops. Our biggest game in a decade is upon us, a glamour tie with Real Madrid in the final in Kiev awaits and anything less than a defeat by three clear goals and we're there. A word of warning though - we know better than most that three goal deficits can be clawed back in this competition and we need a professional performance to complete the job.

Anyway, walk on to Rome fellow Kopites and here’s hoping the Egyptian King pops up with a nice early goal to settle the nerves and blood pressure.

We’ve conquered all of Europe, we’re never gonna stop...
