Match thread: Liverpool vs Roma

Hey hey, you gorgeous bunch of people, how the devil are you all - good I hope as well as ready and raring to go...

Here we are then, a gargantuan and glorious night of European footballing splendour awaits us.

This one sells itself of course and has all the ingredients of that thing, which in my view, Liverpool football Club do better than all the rest: putting on a show filled with passion and playing soul like no one else can and that is what draws us all together as fans; fans that can sing and support like no other as well.

A little team news ahead of proceedings: Emre Can and Adam Lallana are still not available and Joel Matip is out for the season but Nathaniel Clyne has returned to training, after not going to the West Brom game due to a muscle issue. Captain Jordan Henderson is available again after his recent suspension.

Roma's defender Rick Kardsdorp is expected to return from long term injury. Striker, Gregoire Defrel cannot play due to a sprained ankle and defender, Aleksandar Kolarov, is unlikely to play due to muscle injury.
